This workshop introduces paricipants to the application of dramatherapy with adolescents. Particular attention is drawn to the changes and challenges inclueded in adolescence and to the notions of rebellion and 'resistance'. Erickson's developemental stages are used to illustrate the fundamental importance of role within the stage of adolescence and as a point from which to consider role work with this population. The specific needs of troubled adolescents are presented and illustrated thoughout the seminar and understood through the theoretical frame of attachement theory. The participants are introduced to Robert Landy's role methodology and taken through the eight steps of the process in order to experience it for themselves. This workshop includes theoretical and experimental elements.
